Reno Riverwalk District & Northern Nevada HOPES Raise Awareness For Hope During the annual 6th Ugly Sweater Wine Walk A portion of the event proceeds benefit Northern Nevada HOPES

Help support Northern Nevada HOPES and the Reno Riverwalk District during the Reno Wine Walk, on Saturday, December 17, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., a perfect occasion to show your appreciation for community, education and wine. As a special addition to this month’s wine walk the Riverwalk District will be hosting an instagram ugly sweater selfie contest. An expected 1.2k locals and tourists are expected to attend this month’s event wearing their most awful of holiday sweaters and apparel.

Each month portions of the proceeds for the Reno Wine Walk benefit local charitable organizations. In over five years the event organizers have donated more than $80,000 to local non-profits. This November the Riverwalk District’s monthly event will be supporting Northern Nevada HOPES is a nonprofit community health center in downtown Reno, which offers integrated medical care and wellness services. The organization welcomes patients, wherever they are in life, and provide them with compassionate, high-quality health-care.

The Riverwalk District is an incredible place to visit, and events such as the wine walk allow locals and visitors an opportunity to have fun, meet new people and help raise awareness for local non profits while supporting the ongoing beautification efforts of our city.

The organizations growing list of services includes adult and pediatric primary care, chronic disease management, wellness and nutrition, behavioral health counseling, substance use counseling, case management, a pharmacy, and more. The team-based approach to care gives patients access to a range of comprehensive services in one convenient location. For medically under-served populations, Northern Nevada HOPES one-stop-shop health-care model reduces barriers to care and increases the likelihood of maintaining long-term health.

The Wine Walk is a monthly event held on the third Saturday where you purchase a decorative wine glass for a $20 wine-tasting fee.  With wine glass in hand and a valid photo ID, you’ll receive an ID bracelet which allows you to sample wine at any of the twenty-plus participating merchant locations. Many of the businesses hand paint each individual wine glass which attendees get to take home.  At the end of the event attendees enter to win over $700 in gift cards from all the participating merchants during a 5 p.m. raffle.
